After having two friends suggest this author to me in one week, I decided to seek out one of his books. I was pleased for the first half of the book, especially because I just read Terry Goodkind’s Wizard’s First Rule, which was horrible in comparison to this one. However, I lost interest with Pawn of Prophecy after the halfway mark. I enjoyed the author’s writing style, but there wasn’t enough fresh material to keep me interested. In fact, this book put me to sleep a few times - something that hasn’t happened since Jane Eyre, many years ago! I would like to read some more Eddings - perhaps something more mature. After reading this book I noticed that it is marked ages 12 and up. And for a children’s novel, it is fairly complicated. But as an adult, I wasn’t really captivated. Anyone have any suggestions for other books to read by Eddings? Or anything in the fantasy genre at all? I’m just curious.
